Become a Tiger this summer

June 2, 2023

Torquay Cricket Club welcomes expressions of interest from men's and women's players of all standards and levels of experience, as we build towards the 2023-24 summer.

After a promising 2022-23 season in which our men's First XI played off in the Grand Final and our women's team reached the preliminary final, we are keen to welcome players who will add to our depth across all grades.

We are based at picturesque Spring Creek Reserve in the heart of Torquay, and are the only turf cricket club on Victoria's Surf Coast.

Men's coach Leigh Kentish said consistent performances across each of the four men's grades would be a focus this summer.

"We are in a very competitive division in GCA2 and our aim is to be up high in the club championship," Leigh said.

"We would absolutely welcome anyone looking to play good quality cricket on turf, or who is more in it for the social side of the game and looking to play in our lower grades.

"We have a terrific group of existing players and we'd like to add to it. If you're keen for a game and willing to embrace our club's culture, we'd love to hear from you."

Women's co-captain Paige Zotti encouraged anyone thinking about playing cricket to make contact.

"We have players of all experience levels playing with us and it is a really encouraging, fun team to be part of," Paige said.

"We play to win but we're also there for the fun and the social aspect of the game, and I think we achieve a good mix of the two.

"We're looking for more players for this summer, so please get in touch."
